Manager, Practice Management in Elk Grove Village, IL

Would you like to make a contribution to help improve the management of pediatric practices in the United States? The Division of Pediatric Practice is looking for a sharp and organized individual to oversee activities related to practice management; providing support to pediatricians and pediatric practice managers to help ensure that their practices are functioning at a high-level and are financially successful. Activities will also include efforts targeting employed physicians, and emerging models of pediatric health care delivery. This is a highly collaborative position, requiring effective communication, project management, and diplomacy skills, and an understanding of practice management-related topics.
This individual will manage activities related to the AAP Section on Administration and Practice Management, and the Pediatric Practice Managers Association. Position duties will include overseeing educational activities related to both entities - from the coordination of educational sessions to developing articles for publication; oversight and maintenance of relevant Web pages; development of funding reports and grant applications; and representing the interests/concerns of practicing pediatricians and practice managers to both staff and other AAP committees. The perfect candidate will be highly organized, with excellent critical thinking skills and the expertise to multi-task.
Applicants who are qualified will have a Bachelors degree in public health, health care administration, nursing or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of related education and work background. Master?s degree is preferred, 3-5 yrs background in health care or delivery of health care services, including collaboration with internal and external constituents, Website maintenance, and budget preparation/management, as well as knowledge of pediatrics and the practice management environment. Good written composition, spoken communication, resource management, and people skills essential. Good organizational and technical skills (Microsoft office suite) required. Some travel and weekend work required.
